This summer I did three stock shoots in the Somme area near Amiens, France. Lucky me had two beautiful belgium girls as models. For this first project – Organic Beauty – I needed locations with nice ponds where the girls could swim, wash themselves, have fun and relax in the water. Location scouting using the internet brought me in this beautiful Somme area, and indeed lots of ponds but …. swimming forbidden, very deep waters and the water appeared to be polluted. So no models in the water….. Another lesson learned !! The internet is fine for targeting a location, but if you want to know the details…get the phone and call local Tourist Offices. But we did find a nice location and with some help of the weather we could make some great shots !!
After waking up at six o’clock, makeup and a short drive we arrived at this pond. We had beautiful morning light – misty and after a while the sun came breaking through the clouds. And although very chilly the models – Stefanie Rondelez and Evelyne Mertens – let me make some very fine shots. Here is another shot of Evelyne …
And two shots of Stefanie – who also was willing to do the makeup at six in the morning !!! Sadly enough the nice morning light disappeared quickly when shooting Stefanie. If you want good light you should wake up real early- probably before six o’clock when you want nice light – and this beautiful morning light is available only for a few hours. Next morning the light was shit and although I made some shots they were wasted energy. For this Organic Beauty feel you need this misty, early morning light. When you wake up early and you have luck – you have it !!
