Chase Jarvis, how can you be more inspirational ?

May 30, 2009

Probably a year ago I “discovered” Chase Jarvis. At first you learn that he is one of the finest commercial and lifestyle photographers. You start following his work and step-by-step you discover this guy is not only a great photographer but also a fantastic business man, a super networker, uses the internet at countless ways, gives interviews, will try everything new, makes videos, and also has a few thousand pics submitted to Getty Images.

Chase Jarvis and his team produce very fresh commercial photography. And when you see him in action you think he is more like a stuntman than a photographer (he makes a lot of action photography). Happy for us Chase shares his “behind the scenes” with his videos. At Youtube you can watch countless Chase Jarvis videos. Here is a typical example: YouTube Preview Image In his videos he tests new gear, let’s you see how he works, gives interviews, and a lot more.

Chase believes in sharing. That’s what he does !! He walks the talk. Numerous presentations, interviews, podcasts, and his blog is really very very interesting. Most blogs in my Google Reader disappear after some time. But Chase’s blog keeps you reading !! Again, stuff about almost everything …he asks you to give feedback on his portfolio, he shares his experiences with all kinds of gear, how he prepares for shoots, how he uses his iPhone !!!

Yes, how he uses his iPhone. Chase takes everyday numerous photos with his iPhone and posts these twitpics on Facebook. As a “Facebook friend” I have the privilige to see his uploads and I can tell you, these pics are real pieces of art !! In this recent PDN article “Gear on the Go” you can read about the obsession of Chase for making pics with the iPhone.

A man that makes work this good, shares his experiences by blog, video, twitter, facebook, podcasts, and also seems to be a very sympathetic guy. Is such a guy truly inspirational or what ? There is only one question that is unanswered for me…how many hours does a Chase Jarvis day count ?
